Puppies & Kittens, Torrance Veterinarians

Your Pet’s First Appointment

You should aim to bring your new puppy in for a veterinary appointment when they are around 6 weeks old and your kitten around 8 weeks.

During this visit, our veterinarians will conduct a comprehensive physical examination to asses your pet's health, check them for any external parasites, and keep an eye out for any congenital defects.

More About Physical Exams

Your new pet will be given deworming medication for both roundworms and hookworms, as well as their first round of vaccinations from our veterinarian.

More About Vaccines & Prevention

Last, but not least. we will conduct blood tests on new kittens to check them for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus.

Follow-up Appointments

From the ages of six to sixteen weeks, kittens and puppies should attend between three and four veterinary appointments. These visits allow our vet team to accurately assess your pet's overall health and administer their vaccinations on schedule.
